Berberis laurina Billb. (Berberidaceae) is a native shrub from Floresta Ombrófila Mista ecological formation, very ornamental and useful specie for recovery of degraded areas. With medical applications, its fruit is edible and its roots are used as dye. This paper aims to analyze lhe induction of lhe rooting of Berberis laurina stem cuttings employing indolebutyric acid (IBA) in O, 1000 and 2000 mgL-1 concentrations, using the vermiculite as growing medium. In october 2003, stem cuttings were collected from eight stock plants, located in Fazenda Rio Grande - PR. Semi-hardwood cuttings were preppared with 8.0 cm long by 0.35 cm of diameter shape, containing three leaves on the top, cut in a half, the base was cut in diagonal and the top was cut straight,... |

This study aimed to quantify nutrient content in shoot biomass components and litter in two areas of savanna vegetation with different ecological characteristics, one in regeneration and the other as a preserved area, in Floresta, Pernambuco State, Brazil. It was carried out an initial inventory launching 40 plots of 400 m2 in each area, with inclusion level of circumference at 1.3 m above ground level ≥ 6.0 cm. The five species with highest importance value were used for biomass analysis. Chemical analysis were carried out in samples of 100 g taken from the different component of each of those species. To estimate the stock of litter assortments were made in dry and rainy seasons, using a hollow square mold with 0.5 m randomly released in plots. It was... |

Minquartia guianensis Aubl. (acariquara) occurs at Acre, Amazonas, Roraima, Pará and Amapá states, with a great market demand and utility in the Amazon region. It is used mainly in civil construction due to its high durability and singular beauty, because of reentrances in its trunk, resulting in high market value. Most of used trees present small diameters, what is a critical factor for their management and commercialization. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate M. guianensis diametric growth and cutting cycle through the analysis of time of passage among diameter classes, 31 years after logging, at Tapajós National Forest, Pará State, Brazil. Five treatments were established and in each one 12 permanent sample plots of 0.25 ha were... |

Acacia mearnsii is the third forest species more planted in Brazil, especially in small farms at Rio Grande do Sul State. The species is also known as black wattle and is important as a source of tannin, timber, pulpwood and rayon. Its fast growth results in high demand of nutrients and fertilization is necessary to keep site productivity. In this paper it is reported the results of the application of four doses of Phosphorous (0, 20, 40, 80g/tree as P2O5) and three of Potassium (0, 20, 40g/tree as K2O), in a factorial designed trial established on a chemically poor soil at the region of Ponta Grossa, State of Paraná, Brazil. Trees were implanted in a 3m X 2m spacing with 35 plants per plot. The fertilizers were applied in furrows between the rows at the... |

Large quantities of organic wastes are produced mainly in big cities, annually. There is urgent demand for safe and possible economic practices for its use on forest plantations. This study evaluated the effects of the application of urban waste and mineral fertilizers on Eucalyptus grandis W. Hill ex Maiden plantation growing on Neossolo Quartzarênico, analyzing nutrient contents in the litter and in the above ground biomass of trees at 86 months old. The results showed that those plots that received organic wastes presented biomass increments of 36.9 % and largest contents of N, P, K and Ca, 86 months after the establishment. After harvesting, largest nutrient pools remained on those same plots (18 % to 49 %), contributing significantly to maintain... |

A variação... |

Neste... |

This study aimed at evaluating the application of linear hypsometric equations in savanna located in the state of Tocantins, Brazil. Data were obtained in 46 plots of 1,000 m² each, and 13 plots were used to simulate six different systems of data sampling to fit hypsometric models. The remaining 33 plots were reserved for an application test of generated hypsometric equations. In this assessment, to decide the sampling system and model, in addition to the residual graphic analysis, the following statistic criteria were adopted: residual standard error and multiple linear correlation. After this decision, a model identity test was applied to determine the best way to prepare the database aiming at the hypsometric models adjustment. We concluded that the... |

The aim of this work was to select progenies with high adaptability and stability from the dry rubber yield (PBS), of genotypes from a three-year-old rubber tree population, installed in three different locations (Selvíria, MS, Votuporanga, SP and Colina, SP), by the MHPRVG (harmonic average performance relative breeding values) method predicted by BLUP. The progenies were installed in a randomized block design with 30 treatments (progenies), three replications and 10 plants per plot, with spacingof 3.00 x 3.00 m (Selvíria, MS) and 1.50 x 1.50 m (Colina, SP and Votuporanga, SP). The PBS presented considerable genetic coefficient variability, ranging from 23.03 to 27.82% and average heritability ranging from 0.47 to 0.99, indicating the high value of the... |
